The law firm of Dean & Ongert,
P.C. was formed in August of 1990 by Kathy D. Dean (now
Kathy D. Ongert). Prior to the formation of the law firm Steve Ongert and Kathy Ongert had a work
history together which proved their ability to compliment each other's
strengths in business.
Prior to becoming an attorney,
Kathy Ongert worked in retail management developing business practices and
customer service. Even broader in scope, Steve Ongert developed a very diverse
background. He served in the United States Air Force for four years, and
then became involved by owning a number of businesses including direct
sales, marketing, advertising, manufacturing, distribution and mail-order
sales.
Steve Ongert and Kathy Ongert
individually decided to attend law school, which they did at South Texas
College of Law, in downtown Houston
, Texas . Both were
non-traditional students, from the standpoint of age and business
experience, and in 1988, both graduated to embark on their legal careers.
Following admission to the
state bar of Texas in 1989, Kathy Ongert went into private practice as a
solo practitioner in family law, personal injury, wills and probate,
contract law and bankruptcy. Steve Ongert went to work for a law firm
practicing family law. In 1991, the two attorneys joined together and
concentrated their practice in family law and personal injury. Later that
year, Steve Ongert and Kathy Ongert were married.
It is the goal of the attorneys
of Dean & Ongert, P.C. to provide the best services at reasonable
rates. Each attorney is dedicated to serving our community for the
betterment of the community, including a commitment to provide free legal
services and reduced-rate legal services to indigent and low-income
clients. The attorneys believe that they must give to their community in
order to continue to grow, prosper, and keep the respect for which they
have strived. The attorneys are committed to each other and to their
communities, and they look forward to growing with and working for their
neighbors in the Houston and Galveston County areas into the new
millennium.
